Štatenberg Manor is a two-storey Baroque manor near the village of Makole in Slovenia. Dating from around 1695, the manor is one of about 500 castles, manors and ruins in Slovenia. It was last used as a tourist facility in 1983. Since then it was largely abandoned, until 2011 when the local Tourist Association of Makole (in the absence of any other manager) started small renovations in parts of the manor. Facilities now include the local tourist office, six large rooms for workshops and a restaurant. The manor is still in need of care and attention – but its charming setting within natural parkland makes it a promising venue for concerts, weddings and gatherings. The local community is very excited at the idea of this Learning Village being held at Štatenberg Manor, seeing it as a sign of life slowly returning to the manor.
The Statenbeg venue has 60 beds (in 18 very basic rooms, all with shared bathrooms and toilets), and a beautiful meadow that will double as a temporary camping site. If you want to book a bed/room at Štatenberg Manor, do this ASAP as there may be more interest than beds available.
Beds in the Manor are reserved for the participants staying for the entirety of the gathering – all five nights. You can choose your preferred option of accommodation in the Štatenberg manor when filling in the registration form. The table below shows updated avalibilty.
