Art of HOSting
7 -12 August 2022, Slovenia
It has been 10 years since our landmark international practitioners gathering at Štatenberg in Slovenia, near the origins of the Art of Hosting and 20 years since the beginnings of AoH nearby. Two more gatherings followed, with the last in 2016. So much has happened since then!
In these strange pandemic times, we feel called to light the fire again and invite our global practice field to gather.
It’s an important moment to ask ourselves where we’ve been, how we’ve been in practice and what we’ve learned. It’s an opportunity to discover who we want to be together in the future.
You are warmly invited to join us!
We are offering a time for reflection, reconnection and community. We plan a light structure and plenty of space to breathe, play, dream and exchange. We want to discover what is alive in our practice field now. We will sense into the shape of our gathering as 2022 unfolds. This is a gathering for practitioners to focus on their practice together.
We welcome practitioners from all types of participatory practice modalities to come and share. And we invite participants from all over the world.
We have room for up to 120 participants at the event.

About Art of Hosting
The Art of Hosting is a highly effective way of harnessing the collective wisdom and self-organizing capacity of groups of any size. The core of AoH is the belief that anyone should be able to host a conversation that matters and the assumption that people give their energy and lend their resources to what matters most to them – in work as in life. Art of Hosting blends powerful conversational processes like a circle, Appreciative Inquiry, World Café and Open Space to invite people to step in and take charge of the challenges facing them.
People who experience the Art of Hosting typically say that they walk away feeling more empowered and able to help guide the meetings and conversations they are part of to move towards more effective outcomes. AoH is a global network and is one of the practices that offer a doorway into the “Central Garden,” that place beyond methods where people meet in participatory practice to create a better and more generative life for everyone.
Neuland supports our gathering with great facilitation tools and materials.
