Štatenberg Homecomming 2023

Art of HOSting

Practitioners Gathering

27 August – 1 September 2023, Slovenia

Štatenberg homecoming

Last year marked 10 years since our landmark international practitioners gathering at Štatenberg in Slovenia, near the origins of the Art of Hosting, and 20 years since the beginnings of AoH nearby. When we gathered again in 2022, it felt like both the end of a first cycle and the beginning of something new. That’s why we named our event Homecoming.

Now in 2023, we feel called to light the fire again and invite our global practice field to gather once more.

An important impulse came out of our 2023 gathering to stay in practice together. We feel there’s a new rhythm, so in March this year we hosted an online Practitioners Gathering focusing on the many different ways we are putting Art of Hosting into action around the world. Practitioners all over the world met and shared ideas and inspiration.

To balance gathering online, we also want to meet again in person. It’s an important moment to sit together face to face and ask ourselves where we’ve been, how we’ve been in practice and what we’ve learned. It’s an opportunity to discover who we want to be together in the future.

It’s time to come home to our practice together once more.

THE CALL

This year our calling question is: What is hosting now – and how can staying in practice together serve us and the world?

Our intention is to take inspiration and solace from nature and to allow ourselves to be held, hosted and nourished by the land around us.

You are warmly invited to join us!

We are offering a time for reflection, reconnection, and community. And here nature will play an important role as a mentor and guide. We plan a light structure and plenty of space to breathe, play, dream and exchange. We want to discover what is alive in our practice field now. We will sense into the shape of our gathering as 2023 unfolds.

This is a gathering for practitioners to focus on their practice together. We welcome practitioners from all types of participatory practice modalities to come and share. And we invite participants from all over the world.

We have room for up to 120 participants at the event.

Interested but unsure?

Join us for a conversation and bring any questions or doubts you may have with relation to our practitioners gathering this August!

About Art of Hosting

The Art of Hosting is a highly effective way of harnessing the collective wisdom and self-organizing capacity of groups of any size. The core of AoH is the belief that anyone should be able to host a conversation that matters and the assumption that people give their energy and lend their resources to what matters most to them – in work as in life. Art of Hosting blends powerful conversational processes like circle, Appreciative Inquiry, World Café and Open Space to invite people to step in and take charge of the challenges facing them.

People who experience the Art of Hosting typically say that they walk away feeling more empowered and able to help guide the meetings and conversations they are part of to move towards more effective outcomes. AoH is a global network and is one of the practices that offer a doorway into the “Central Garden,” that place beyond methods where people meet in participatory practice to create a better and more generative life for everyone.

Neuland supported our 2022 gathering with great facilitation tools and materials.
